Birnham Woods Elementary
Our on-site elementary school, Birnham Woods Elementary is located just south of the Lake Club, and teaches grade levels Pre K – 4. The elementary school has consistently received high ratings from the Texas Education Agency since the school opened. Additionally, average standardized test scores at Birnham Woods have been significantly higher than the state average since 2010.
Tom Cox Intermediate School
Opened in the Fall of 2008, Cox Intermediate serves children in grades 5 and 6. With just under 800 students, Cox Intermediate has exceeded state averages in Math, Science, and Reading in the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills year after year. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, Cox Intermediate was awarded Exemplary, Recognized, and Recognized ratings by the TEA respectively.
York Junior High School
Recently named a TEA Recognized campus, York Junior High moved to a new facility in the Fall of 2008, and teaches grades 7-8. TAKS math, reading, and writing scores have all been well above the state average since 2008.
Oak Ridge High School
Oak Ridge High School is a comprehensive school that offers a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities, allowing students as many choices as possible. ORHS offers a myriad of courses to meet diversified needs and goals of its students. The instructional approaches include advanced placement, dual credit with Lone Star College—Montgomery, pre-AP and honors, as well as modified curriculum for special needs students. The Air Force Junior ROTC program emphasizes aerospace science and leadership training. Through a variety of clubs and organizations incorporating service, students engage in many community projects building active and responsible citizenship.
